The new business opportunities and concept of global village have fueled the growth of hospitality industry and it has touched new heights on national as well as international arena. However, the state of Gujarat which boasts of innumerable tourist attractions has remained deprived of this growth, mainly due to the lack of trained man power in hospitality sector.
Therefore, with the need of the 21st century on the mind, Sushree Sardama Trust (SST) was established in 1997 to commemorate 50th year of Indian Independence. Sushree Sardama Trust (SST) which is a Public Charitable Minority Trust had started the “Degree College for Hotel & Tourism Management” in the academic year 1998-99 with the objective of creating “Skilled Man Power” for the Hospitality & Tourism Industry, thereby bringing the latest management technology to the people of Gujarat, Saurashtra and Rajkot city. Moreover, there is not even a single college of this kind in entire Saurashtra region. The underlying objective of the Institute is to promote Indian culture and values through holistic approach to management imbibing the teachings of our ancient Heritage along with the technical know how, thereby supplying the dynamic manpower to the Hospitality Industry.
Vivekanand Institute is recognized for producing individuals equipped with both academic credentials and a sound understanding of the world around them. This stems from one of our major objective: To mold individuals who will contribute to the country’s progress in every field.
We at this institute are committed to excellence in education with a firm belief in what Swami Vivekanand said, “Education is not the amount of information that is put in to your brain and runs riot there, undigested all your life. We must have life-building, man-making, character-making, assimilation of ideas. If you have assimilated five ideas and made them your life and character, you have more education than any man who has got by heart a whole library”.
