VIHTM provides an excellent on campus Hostel facility separately for Boys and Girls. The Hostel is on a sharing basis and is furnished with all amenities.
The hostel caters to approximately 200 students and has a mess serving delicious food. The menu for the mess is designed by the students as we believe in serving and catering to the tastes of our students.
Regular theme parties and Birthday celebrations with Grand feasts make the mess the most popular abode for the students on campus.
VIHTM organizes various competitions such as Salad Competition, Mock-tail Competition, Dessert Competition, Carving Competition and above all, The Chef of the year Competition every year at professional level.
VIHTM has instituted “VIVEKANAND EXCELLENCE AWARD” annually for the Best Student of the Year.This award carries a citation along with a prize value of Rs. 25,000/- which is divided among the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students.
The Institute also gives “Most Disciplined Trainee”, “Outstanding Trainee”, “VIHTM Personality Award” & “Chef of the year Award” every year.
VIHTM takes pride in holding various sports events annually such as Chess, Carom, Badminton, Cricket, Volleyball etc. and gives away the trophies to the winners and the best teams.

CHEF OF THE YEAR AWARD
A Citation is presented to the student showing exemplary performance in Kitchen.
VIHTM celebrated “Paratha Festival” on February 10, 2002 for the people of Rajkot city. The festival got an overwhelming response, boosting the morale of the students. This students had prepared 22 varieties of parathas. The hot parathas were served with various accompaniments making the cool evening warm.
VIHTM had organized two-day National Symposium on “The Saga of Hospitality Education – Quality Assurance” on February 14th & 15th 2003 at its campus “Bodhigram”.
The symposium was inaugurated by H.E. Shri Sundhar Singh Bhandari by unveiling 7.5 ft. statue of Swami Vivekanand on the campus. Professionals, academician s and industry people came together on one platform to discuss the Quality of Hotel Management education in the country.
The key speaker of the Symposium was Prof. N.R. Shetty an active member of AICTE, Ministry of HRD, New Delhi and also Member – Secretary, Indira Gandhi National Centre for Art, New Delhi.
Bakery & Confectionery Show
Vivekanand Institute of Hotel & Tourism Management, Rajkot organized Gujarat’s first Bakery & Confectionery Exhibition cum Sale held on 23rd January 2005 at Hotel Grand Regency in Rajkot.
The presence of the Police Commissioner; Rajkot Colonel of NCC Mr. A.K. Gairola and leading actress of “Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki” Ms.Sweta Keshwani (Avantika) added to the glamour of the show. The honored guests also suggested organizing similar events in future on a grand scale.
More than 25 different varieties of Bakery products were on display at the function.
The event was organized under the complete guidance of full time Director of College Mr.Mohit Mohnani. The success of the event was the outcome of dedicated hard work from students, Teacher and non-teaching staff as well.
