VIHTM organizes various competitions such as Salad Competition, Mock-tail Competition, Dessert Competition, Carving Competition and above all, The Chef of the year Competition every year at professional level..

VIHTM has instituted “VIVEKANAND EXCELLENCE AWARD” annually for the best student of the year since the year 2002. This award carries a citation along with a cash prize of Rs.5,000/-.

The Institute also gives “Most Disciplined Trainee”, “Outstanding Trainee”, “VIHTM Personality Award” & “Chef of the year Award” every year.

VIHTM takes pride in holding various sports events annually such as Chess, Carom, Badminton, Cricket, Volleyball etc. and also holds Antakshari Competition on the lighter side and gives away the trophies to the winners and the best teams.
